On SportsBook CheatSheet, we label our bets "Best Bets", "Great Bets", "Good Bets" and "No Bet".

A "No Bet" label means either it is a bad bet, or essentially a 50-50 toss up without any clear value.

A Good Bet will usually have an expected profit of roughly 5-15% and signifies there is value in the bet, albeit limited.

A Great Bet is in between a "Good" Bet and a "Best" Bet and will usually have an expected profit of roughly 15-20%.

"Best Bets" are generally reserved for less than 10% of our bet recommendations and will usually have an expected profit of over 20%.

For all money line bets we provide the expected value that one would expect to make on that particular bet. For example, if the expected value of a $100 bet is $150, we expect that the bet on average one will receive a $50 profit plus the $100 bet back.

If a bet has odds of 5-1, and a 25% chance to win this means that the bet is more likely to lose than win.

However, it still has positive expected value because of the high payout of 5-1. If one bets $100 4 times and wins 1 of these 4 bets, they would receive their money back for that bet ($100), plus $500 (5:1 multiplied by $100), totaling $600.

Divide this $600 by the 4 bets placed and each individual bet has an expected value of $150. Therefore, even though the bet itself is not likely to win, it has a positive expected value and so can be a worthwhile bet.

The expected values or predicted estimates of any individual bet can never be guaranteed to return any specific amount.
